Wood Carving the Hanged Man

The Hanged Man……and how you can participate!

I’ve decided to carve the Hanged Man in wood, a full three dimensional figure. the figure will be about six inches high, the overall piece will likely be about eight inches high not counting the mounting base.

It is my intent to post a photo of this piece at every step of the way.  Each of you can choose to participate in the planning of this piece.  What I am soliciting opinions about are the following points:

  • What tarot deck do you feel best illustrates the Hanged Man in a form that will be most universally recognized and liked?
  • What do you think of incorporating the Fool into this figure  in the sense of the fool’s coat, staff and carry bag, and (perhaps) the dog each/all being involved in the scene?  For example, the coat, staff and bag could be folded, placed on the ground, the dog sleeping. This would emphasize that this card is one of 21 on the fool’s journey.

If anyone has other suggestions, feel free to suggest them.  Dave
