Breast removal and reconstruction requires some time to complete and is not without its risks and glitches. The operated areas may not drain completely or quickly, infections are possible, implants may leak and need to be replaced, closing the wounds to support the shaping and cosmetic surgery may not proceed as planned or hoped for. Personal exposure to these procedures in a family member has shown me that the whole procedure is subject to twists and turns, and that the completion of reconstruction is reached after discomfort and worry. We will now look at a Moon-to-Sun Return chart and Advanced chart for Angelina’s given date of completion of her surgery. This t/Moon-to-n/Sun Return chart features a twelfth house placement. The generic book statement for this pattern is: One can shape the future or the manner in which the needs of others are responded to. Preparation for one’s own future leads to becoming an advocate for public policies or agencies, building working partnerships. Volunteer efforts or visiting others who are in solitude. This is a time to meditate or review one’s own status and past actions relative to considering new possibilities.” Let us now look at the chart for April 14, 2013.
The t/Moon-conjoining-n/Sun in the 12th has been covered above. t/Sun is in the 10th, having just passed the Return’s MC, and conjoins t/Mars: Angelina’s physical self (Sun) is subject to an assault (Mars = operational cutting and surgery). This pattern squares her n/Asc., pointing to some discomfort and challenges. Note that her n/Asc. conjoins her n/Venus — a long known signature for beautiful breasts. n/Mars and t/Mercury are near the Return’s MC; we can nuance this as surgical skill being applied so as to affect her status, goals, public image. t/Pluto is at the Desc. angle; another will be in control in transforming her physical self. All of these statements have to fitted into the context of her life at this time. Other interpretations would be less appropriate. Finally, t/Part of Fortune opposes t/Neptune: Chance and change is linked to the illusion of beauty and social acceptance.
Let us now look at the Advanced chart for April 27th when the final cosmetic surgery was completed.
The MC conjoins n/Mars and n/Moon, t/Uranus, and squares t/Pluto in the 7th. The emotional trauma of surgery has brought about the planned for goals of her earlier brave decisions. Her individuality (Uranus) and excitement about the achievement is evident. t/Sun and t/Mars in the 10th oppose t/Saturn; Her actions to support her self-interests (the decision to go ahead with breast removal and reconstruction) has defined a new reality for her (opposition to Saturn in the 4th). Note that t/PoF squares n/Pof from the 8th to the 11th; “Chance and change” (PoF) has been challenged (square) successfully, the future is assured (11th) due to joint decisions (8th) and actions.
Finally, note n/Venus and n/Asc. at the Advanced Asc. angle; Angelina’s breasts, sense of beauty, harmony and pleasant personality have been reestablished. In cyclic charts, the return of the n/Asc. to the Return chart’s Asc. angle is always significant of joy and a feeling that one’s life is well worth living.
As always, it is important to realize that these charting methods are portraying small photos of each day in a series of days — the sum of all the charts, seen within the context of one’s life, gives us a complete picture of what is going on. This is quite contrary to typical astrological practices wherein one looks at one chart and considers every possible detail in trying to see what the chart might represent. Astrology is about cycles, the flow of change within the flow of time, and how we respond to and use them. Dave.
