Midpoints for casual prediction?

 

There have been several approaches in my recent postings to viewing the singular event in comedian Bill Cosby’s life — his arrest on Dec. 30, 2015 for indecent assault.  After decades of projecting himself as a ‘goody-two-shoes’ overly nice character, a darker side of Cosby has emerged through the claims of sexual mis-conduct by very many women.  How that plays out is yet to be determined in the courts.

In this posting, the use of midpoints will be briefly considered.  Midpoints are complex and time consuming to process compared to Moon-to-Sun Returns — one has to do some ‘work’ in order to use them. Below is a ’90 degree wheel’, a device that has been used for decades by those who emply midpoints in their astrological practice.   This is merely a 360 chart wheel ‘folder over’ into quarters so that 90 degrees are portrayed.  The first 30 degrees represent Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn, the second 30 degree segment covers the fixed signs, the last 30 degrees covers the mutables.  The natal planets are shown on the inner ring, solar-arc prog’d planets on the outer ring, the transits for Dec. 30, 2015 have been marked within the 90 degree wheel.

For quick and easy tracking and predictive purposes, we have a whole different situation here with this type of charting.  In an earlier posting, Cosby’s natal chart was looked at.  Using his ‘midpoint’ view of the chart, I have extracted five patterns that represent the most exact patterns to open this discussion.  The notes offered are taken directly out of Ebertin’s ‘Combination of Stellar Influences” book.

• Pluto = Mars/Saturn (0d, 01m)  Brutality, rage, injury, harm.
• Mercury = Sun/Pluto (0d, 05m)  Intellectual supremacy, prudence, objectivity, orator.
• Mercury = Venus/N.Node (0d, 05m)  Discussion of love issues with others, making contact, love union.
• Saturn = Moon/Pluto (0d, 09m)  One sided emotional life, inhibitions, mental and emotional suffering.
• Saturn = Mercury/Neptune (0d, 09m)  Dark thoughts, pessimistic, egotistic ideas, morbid sensitivity.

These are the ‘closest to exact’ midpoints in his natal chart.  By themselves, the capture quite a bit of the Cosby character that we have come to know.  Positive patterns point to his mental acuity as a comedian and his ability to touch others with his words.  His TV shows were in a family setting and dealt with interrelationships and being sensitive to the needs of others.  Now, contrast that with some of the negative indicators.  These are the issues we didn’t readily see in his public life, yet the news tells us of situations that can be the result of these.  A one-sided emotional life, inhibitions, mental-emotional suffering; these all fit with the act of seeking physical contact with others — although not by drugs and coercion.  Dark thoughts, pessimism, egotistical ideas, morbid sexuality (all as found in Ebertin’s book) would fit with the many claims that have brought him to this point in his life of investigation into his sexual conduct.

It takes some time to cast and review midpoint charts for just these few selected items.  If we look at the Solar Arc progressions to the natal planets (looking for only very close to exact patterns) we might note the following. (** Ebertin doesn’t include Chiron in his book).

• Sun = Moon/Pluto (0d, 007m)  Sensitive nature, exciteable.
• Mars = Neptune/MC (0d, 00m)  Act without a clear understanding, bring wrong ideas into reality.
• Saturn – Sun/N.Node (0d, 03m)  Lack of adaptability, reserve, inhibitions.
• Neptune = Moon/Chiron (0d, 03m)  Uncertainty over needed emotional adjustments.**
• Pluto = Neptune/N.Node (0d, 09m)  Exercising bad influences onto others.  Upset over anti-social conduct by others.
• Asc = Mars/N.Node (0d, 10m)  Personal contacts made/sought with others.
• Asc = Jupiter/MC (0d, 05m)  Seeking a happy relationship, harmony, sociableness.
• Chiron = Moon/Asc (0d, 04m)  Seeks to modulate personal relationships, sensitivity.
• Chiron = Venus/Pluto (0d, 07m)  Adjusting situations relative to ideas of love and controlling relationships. **
• N.Node = Pluto/Asc (0d, 04m)  Sharing destiny with another, entering into unusual situations.

By now, we are realizing that there is a lot of detailed work to be done when using midpoints.  They are revealing, and accurate.  But, you don’t just casually pop them up onto your computer screen and immediately see what the story is.  We can fit much of the above into our ideas about Bill Cosby but some we can’t.  We know him through his public image, but we don’t really know him.  So, we have to be more careful here in what we say or assume.

Looking at the transiting planets for that day (but not the midpoint structures between the transiting planets) that might directly contact other planets, we can note the following:

• t/Mercury, t/Mars contacts n/Uranus; Angry words, accusations bring upset/change.
• t/Moon is close to solar arc Venus;  Emotions and reactions to relationships.
• t/Chiron contacts solar arc Neptune;  Ideals and fantasies need to be reassessed.
• t/N.Node contacts n/MC;  Associations with other affects one’s public image.

The transits are easier to deal with.   When working with midpoints, one has lists of all the combinations of planets to look at and mentally assess.  If looking at a span of time, the 90 degree wheel can be moved forward or backward, and then one has to search for new midpoints that come into being for that date.

The Pro’s and Con’s of using midpoints.  The good thing is that they many combinations present clear messages — the bad thing is that the number of messages is often hard to combine into an interpretation.  The bad thing is that there are too many possible or likely combinations to look at.  Unless you seek out exact or close to exact combinations (as I have done above), you don’t know where to start.

Astrologers who use midpoints often do their preparation work before the client comes in for a consultation.  That’s nice.  But, what happens if the client take the conversation in a whole new and unexpected direction?  Is that preparation work wasted.  Time is money.  Will a client pay for the time required to prepare for a consultation?  Does the astrologer have the time to devote to that client on that date?

Cosby In A Clearer Light

Bill Cosby’s arrest for Indecent Assault has been the subject for these several views using different astrological charting methods.  In this post, the now-familiar t/Moon-n/Sun Return format will be used. Pictured to the left is the actual arrest, Dec. 30, 2015.

The t/Moon-to-n/Sun Return of Dec. 26, 2015 is shown below.

t/Moon-to-n/Sun Return, 4th house has a theme of: One’s home or personal values are open for assessment or negotiation.  Support comes from a team or another close to you. . . work and home life merge or create conflicts in resources or efforts.  How to balance public life to suit one’s personal life. 

Most notable in this chart is the natal angles realigning near the Return’s angles. This is like a mini-rebirth, one will face a new ‘life potential’ a significant change in how their life’s direction proceeds.  Take special note of this ‘return of the natal angles’ to the chart’s angles.  This pattern occurs in precession-corrected Solar Returns in one’s 39th and 78th year.  In those cases, I have hundreds of charts in which the subject has either died in one of those two years or has escaped death or has gone on to do something notable with their life.

With t/Uranus-Asc., excitement and sudden changes will affect Cosby on a personal level. Also note that t/Moon-n/Sun opposes t/Pluto-t/Mercury;  allowing for the general place-ment of t/Pluto, we have a doubled up Mercury-Pluto combination on the vertical axis! The only way to interpret this, in the context of all the allegations of sexual drugs and rape at this time, is that life-changing, devastating, irrevocable news will be forthcoming for Cosby.  t/Mars in the 7th has been contacted by t/PoF; Cosby will be ‘attacked’ or challenged in some way.   Let us look at his advanced chart for Dec. 30th, 2015.

Four days later than the Return chart, the angles have advanced.  We find t/Sun-MC, n/MC, t/Pluto claiming the spot light.  Career, public image, dignity, reputation and catastrophic change is all suggested for this day.

Asc. conjoins n/Asc., t/Uranus — all squaring the n/Sun; Changes in Cosby’s daily life experience affects his reputation with sudden impact.  t/Mars-Desc. adds to his being charged or attacked, depending upon how you want to shape this event and situation.

Note the Solar Eclipse of Sept. 13th and Lunar Eclipse of Sept. 28th, both in the prior months to this Return and Advanced chart.  The Solar Eclipse highlights his social contacts with others and how he utilized them.  The Lunar Eclipse links into n/Saturn and his sense of self-constraint.  The sextile aspect to n/Venus points to this being on his mind, perhaps as a conflict that he couldn’t resolve.  Note the broad conjunction of t/Venus and t/Saturn opposing n/Venus and trining n/Saturn.  Apparently he was quite aware of what he was doing, that it conflicted with his values, but he kept of doing it in spite of the internal conflict.  In this broad sense, he may be no different from many others who have to battle their personal demons day-by-day.  Yet, this battle was such that his choices of how to conduct himself should have been very different.  The price that he was paying was far less than what his victims were paying.

This is one astrological view of these charts and this situation.  The upcoming trial will define the actual nature of this situation.  At that time, we will see how the truth from the trial lines up with the astrological indications.  Dave.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Now, For Some Confusion

The previous post used a precession-corrected Solar Return for 2015, cast for Bill Cosby.  This chart was progressed or advanced using Cyril Fagan’s system which more-or-less alots 1.25 degrees per day between the Solar Return date and any event date in the following year.  The actual amount of advance is technically determined by subtracting the Sidereal Time of the earlier Return from the Sidereal Time of the latter Return and adding 24 hours.  This results in something like 30 hours of calculated time.  This equates to a day’s full revolution (360 degrees) plus a quarter-day of revolution (our leap-year value) to obtain some 450 degrees of advance.  For any day between Solar Returns, we proportion the time or the distance to get a daily MC value.

In this posting we will use another approach to advancing a Solar Return which is advocated by Marion March and Joan AMcEvers in their book series, “The Only Way To Learn Astrology.”  They advocate using the actual shift in MC position from one Solar Return to the next Solar Return as the total amount of possible MC advance in one year.  This distance is proportioned to any event date between the bracketing Solar Returns.  I should note that they use Tropical zodiac, not-precession-corrected Solar Returns.  The two Solar Returns for 2015 and 2016 are shown below for Bill Cosby.

According to March and McEvers, we need to divide the difference between the MC positions, which is 82d43m.  We divide by 365.25 days (in the astronomical year) and end up with a value of .2264658 degrees per day.  From July 11, 2015 to Dec. 30, 2015 there is a difference of 172 days.  We multiply .2264658 by 172.  This is the value of the MC position we want for Dec. 30, 2015.  We are looking for 270d23m08s or Capricorn 0d23m.  This chart is shown below.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We take note of the t/Sun near the chart’s MC and also the natal MC position.  This points to one’s career and public image being subject to scrutiny.  t/Sun squares n/Saturn, as it does in any of Cosby’s charts for this day.  The progressed SR Asc. is near t/Uranus, showing surprises and changes coming his way.  Cosby also has a Lunar Return on this day, a condition that would be shown in any form of Return or Daily chart.

• At this point we have reviewed a Diurnal chart for Cosby’s arrest.
• We have looked at a Moon-to-Sun Return and Advanced chart for his arrest.
• We have looked at a precession-corrected Tropical Solar Return and Advanced chart for the date of his arrest.
• Now, we are looking at a not-corrected Tropical Solar Return and Advanced chart for the date of his arrest.

We could look at Progressed charts or Solar Arc Directed charts.  However, what we are dealing with here is the usefulness of various chart methods to see which one is easiest to read and offers symbolism that describes, for each of us, the events of the day.  Which would you choose to use?  The one type of chart we haven’t used so far is a non-corrected Moon-to-Sun Return.  We also have not used a t/Moon-to-n/Saturn Return chart.  We can look at any other form of chart that the reader wishes to suggest.  The problem with comparing chart types is that we might be faced with having to change our mind about which is the better one for us.  Dave.

 

 

 

 

Solar Return Insights Into Cosby’s Arrest

 

 

In this posting we will again be looking at Bill Cosby and his arrest on Dec. 30, 2015 — except that this time we will be using a precession-corrected Solar Return for July 13, 2015 as the base-chart and we will advance the chart using the “PSSR” approach developed by Cyril Fagan as part of his Sidereal practices.  These charts are cast in the tropical zodiac.

In the last posting a Diurnal charting method was used to look at the Dec. 30, 2015 arrest of Bill Cosby for indecent assault.  Above is Cosby’s 2015 Solar Return chart.  The natal chart is shown inside, the transits outside.  This is a powerful chart !  Note that the n/MC is at the MC angle, the n/Asc. is at the Asc. angle.  Whenever a natal chart’s angles realign with the Solar Return chart’s angles we are dealing with a “born-again” chart.  Now, note that Cosby was born in 1937.  Every 39 years, if one remains at or near the birth location, the Solar Return angles will return to the natal chart’s angles.  This also can happen in/near the 78th year.  In mid-2015, Cosby was 78 years old.  Since many of us move about over the course of a life time, it is possible, even likely, that our Solar Return angles can re-align with our natal chart angles at any time.  This is something to watch for.  A couple of years ago, I reach a search on Astro-Databank for people who had died in their 39th year.  After a couple of minutes my printer started printing without stopping.  I shut it off after 500 names of well-known people had been listed.  So, this was going to be a very eventful year for Bill Cosby!

t/Uranus is on the Asc.; Upsets and challenges will help define his individuality.  t/Mercury and t/Mars at the IC;  angry words and actions will affect his stability in life.  t/Pluto in the 10th, 6 degrees from the MC; transformation, harshness and intensity will be part of his life’s focus in this year.

Once we have a Solar Return before us, the question becomes “when will something happen?”  I have long advocated the use of RIYAL as the best software for calculating Solar Returns and in-between daily charts.  One of the unique features of RIYAL is a “hit list” for the annual period starting with the Solar Return, such as is shown below.

This is a portion of the annual Hit List produced on-screen by RIYAL.  Note in this example that Jan 3, 2016 is highlighted.  This is not important for our use here.  Note the information given:  Date, Progressed Moon Position, progressed MC position, progressed ASC position, ARMC in degrees, and any angular “hits” on any given date.

The user can highlight Dec. 30th, 2015.  Upon doing so, a “pop-up dialog box” will ask you what type of chart you want for that date — a bi-wheel with the transiting angles aligning the chart, a bi-wheel with the natal angles aligning the chart, or just a transit chart.  I chose the transiting angles as a chart aligning choice.  The following chart popped up.

This is the Dec. 30, 2015 progressed daily angles chart which is derived from the Solar Return.  In the 5 1/2 months since the Solar Return, the MC has advanced from 7:51 Capr. to 6:34 Leo.  This moved the natal MC from near the Solar Return MC to the 3rd house position where it is midway between t/Sun and t/Pluto — more signs of upheaval occurring on this date.

There is one factor which this chart, or any other chart calculated by any other software will not show you.  This is what I call the “CD” point.  The CD or co-descendant point is determined by taking the Asc.-to-MC arc (84 degrees in this case) and applying it to the MC position in the direction of the 7th house.  Subtracting 84 degrees from the MC position of 6 Leo will place the CD point at 12 Taurus where it conjoins n/Uranus!  What does the CD point mean?  The CD is where “life” intrudes upon you, unasked, uninvited, unexpected.  In this case disruption, surprise and individuallity-defining events will happen.

In the past several days — note the Asc. is 3 degrees past t/Mars, Desc. is 10 degrees past n/Asc., MC is 8 degrees past n/Pluto, the IC is 9 degrees past t/Mercury — a lot of activity was conducted on the legal front as lawyers made the cases, pro and con.  However, it was on this day that the Judge ordered Cosby’s arrest.  Since t/Uranus-at-the-Asc. was so important in the Solar Return chart, it is only fitting that n/Uranus be contacted and activated by the CD point in this daily chart.

Unlike the recent emphasis on t/Moon-to-n/Sun Return charts where rapid movement and mutliple planets seem to be the rule, the Solar Returns and their progressed daily angle charts (which advance about 1.25 degrees per day) seem to offer only a few planets at angles for us to base our interpretation on.  With all Return and cyclic charts, it is most important that we keep in mind the context of the subject’s life.  Even if only one or two factors are evident, they offer deep meaning (as well as ‘timing’ ) if we keep the person’s life context in mind.

I’ll leave you with on more nugget of information about Solar Returns.  Over the course of the year, from on Solar Return date to the next Solar Return date, the Sun will advance the 360 degrees of the zodiac circle.  However, the MC will progress faster, some 450 degrees (360 degrees plus 90 degrees).  Remember our 1/4 extra day each year that we save up and use as part of “leap year?”  The MC progresses-advances 5/4’s of a circle to the Sun’s 4/4’s of a circle.  This results in some interesting phenomena.  The Solar Return MC will reach its opposition point in 4 months and 3 weeks (with some variation).  This date will often prove to be a ‘challenge’ point for you.  At 9 months, 2 weeks, the MC will return to its prior Solar Return position.  This date will often be a time or resolving any challenges or a time of celebration.  With a Sept. 13th birthday, I find that early February often brings difficulties into my life.  I used to go on vacation at that time of the year to avoid them.  Early June is often a great time of the year for me.  You should check this out for yourself.

Cosby: When ‘Private’ Becomes ‘Public.”

Bill Cosby’s public image has long been solid and admired by the American public. While many of us who are older recall his days in comedy, most remember him for his role as head of the Huxtable family on TV that dealt with a host of on-going family problems.  Much of the show took place in the family living room on a long couch.  Show characters would leave and enter through the front door or up the stairs.

Between his TV shows, educational programs, comedy and movies, Cosby was associated with being a solid role model for family values.  Imagine the shock and public dismay as rumors of sexual misconduct began to hit the newscasts.  With that news came background stories of many women with claims of being taken advantage of, others stories of hush-money and quiet deals to suppress allegations by women, recent and in the past.

We will commence the review of Cosby’s charts for Dec. 30, 2015 when he was arrested and charged with Indecent Assault.  We will start, for this posting, with a Diurnal chart.  Diurnal charts are one of the more simple predictive tools that we can utilize.  The natal chart, for locations at/near the birth locality or for a relocated place if one has moved, is the basis.  We construct a transiting chart for a given date/year, using the time taken from the birth chart.  A bi-wheel chart is then constructed and referred to.

What does a Diurnal chart do, show?  Retaining the birth time, but defining a new date for the Diurnal chart advances the natal chart angles at about one-degree per day.  This rate of advance is actually 360 degrees in 365.25 days.  If we pick a date in any year that is 90 days following one’s birth day, the Diurnal chart will have advanced some 89 or 90 degrees at the MC.  The transiting planets will be shown in their proper place for that date.  The following Durnal chart for Bill Cosby on Dec. 30, 2015 will be examined.  This date is some 5 1/2 months after his birthday.  The MC will have advanced somewhere around 5  1/2  to 6 signs from its 11 degrees Capricorn position.

The Diurnal chart is shown in the outer ring.  The MC has advanced from 11 Capricorn to 14 Cancer. The planets in the outer ring are transiting planets.  We can note several simple factors in this chart.

• t/Sun is approaching an opposition point to n/Sun.  The end of each year will always represent a challenging time for Cosby.  Because his n/Sun is at the natal IC, not only will the Sun’s oppose each other at the end of any year, transiting Sun will oppose natal Sun as well.
• t/Uranus at n/Asc.; his very individuality, quirks and eccentric actions have come to the fore, have been revealed in the light of day.
• t/Moon has conjuncted n/Moon; One fears and vulnerabilities are foremost in his mind.  Both natal and transiting Moon are opposed by t/Neptune at 7 Pisces, and part of the natal Neptune grouping.  Fantasy, deceit and rumors abound.
• t/PoF conjoins n/PoF; a sure sign of chaos.
• And, to cap it all off, diurnal/MC opposes t/Pluto.  A public transformation will occur.

So, there we have a Diurnal chart.  It is all very appropriate.  One capable astrologer, who is a close friend, runs Diurnal charts for every chart she runs.  This, along with Solar Arc directions, using the 90 degree wheel, are her two predictive tools.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It Is Time To Look At Bill Cosby!

This is comedian and Movie-TV actor Bill Cosby in his younger years.  He has been a house-hold name for much of my whole life. Not that I ever particularly watched his TV shows.  But, he was always present.  One of his created cartoon-real life characters that was popular was Fat Albert — a picture is shown at the left.  This was another Cosby creation that I seemed to miss out on due to my work schedule as my wife and I raised a young family.  What I do remember of Cosby were his radio comedy skits, particularly the one where he was himself as a young kid playing the role of a submarine Captain, and flushing the bathroom toilet to simulate the launching of a torpedo.  In any case, I am going to explore a few events in Bill Cosby’s life through astrological charts.  I will start with a brief look at his natal chart.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Bill Cosby has Aries rising, Capricorn culminating in his natal chart cast for July 12, 1937 at 12:30 AM, Germantown, PA.  Given the range of creative projects he has engaged in during his life and the single-minded manner he has demonstrated while pursuing educational degrees and managing his many business interests, the Aries and Capricorn influence is obvious.

Cosby’s Sun is in the 4th house, indicating strong family ties, values growing from childhood experiences, and one who builds on what prior experiences have provided.  This is a sensitive, emotional position for one’s Sun, supporting a caring persona.  The need for acceptance is strong, contrasting with a tendency to take everything as ‘personal’ praise or a ‘personal attack.’  Building walls around oneself is a natural instinct, but this leads to a denial of needed contact with others. Any expression of kindness by others easily breaks down his walls, while any slight can just as quickly build them up again.

The fourth house placement of the Sun requires a measure of privacy be maintained.  This helps to maintain a personal perspective on live needed for daily navigation through life.  With Mercury close to the Sun, Cosby has a curious and inventive mind and makes everything into a learning experience.  The opposition of Jupiter denotes large objectives and a wish for success.  Optimism and hope are drivers in life but restlessness and limitations brings depression and frustration.

To support his optimism and seeking of opportunities in life, Cosby has Sun in trine aspect to Mars, providing energy and self-confidence.  The Sun-Neptune sextile folds in imagination and dreams.

Cosby’s Virgo Moon adds to his natural sensitivity and shyness (shyness is something he has overcome, obviously, through his show-business experiences) and tendency to not share his feelings openly and freely.  At the current point in his life, it will be interesting to discover what has totally turned-off or turned-around his expected Moon expression.  The natural avoidance of demonstrating warmth with others is counter to his public personal that has been shown through his public image on TV and in the film industry.  The deeply critical nature of his Virgo Moon has remained, being shown through the themes of his creative shows and public service messages.

The sixth house Moon placement is shown through his TV character’s roles as ‘primary supporter’ and ‘fixer-upper’ of other’s personal problems.  The closeness of Moon to Neptune provides a sensitivity and ‘magical aura’ around his public image.  The Moon’s trine to Uranus is most often seen in some of the whacky characters he has created for his video presentations and books.  Fat Albert is a great example of this unique expression as a character.

I find the Sun-Mercury-Pluto combination in the fourth house particularly interesting. This combination points to one who is willful in their thought patterns, can visualize an end-result as a logical conclusion of expected steps-to-take.  This ability helps to take on large, complex projects with great assurance of success.  The negative side is that ‘self-centeredness’ and obsessive

Venus in Gemini fits with an outgoing personality and socialability.  The square to the Moon is problematic in that one’s personal needs and sensitivities can conflict with one’s likes and physical desires.  Disastisfaction, small irritations in how others relate to you, changes in his behavior are all complex and hard to understand — his quirks disturb both him and others, and can cause him personal discomfort in his relationships.

For someone with Aries rising, Mars in Scorpio is important to understand.  Strong-willed and passionate approaches to life’s experiences is the norm.  Others may find it hard to influence you once your course of action is decided upon.  Often your thoughts and plans are not explained to others, you expect them to just follow you.  If others don’t wish to follow you, manipulation is your way of dealing with them.  Since Mars is in the seventh house, you can see others as offering a personal challenge.  Do you charm them or batter them?  Fortunately, Mars sextiles Jupiter, so Cosby tends to convince them to do things his way.

Speaking of Jupiter, Jupiter’s position in the 10th house is advantageous for Cosby.  I have noted the Sun opposition and the perspective it gives him in recognizing opportunities.  Jupiter is also in a ninth house phase relationship with Saturn, conveying a ‘business-like’ approach to life in which everything is managed.  With Saturn in the 12th house, Cosby’s business acumen is not publically seen, but it is there.

One small ‘fly in the ointment’ issue is his Part of Fortune on the Moon’s South Node.  This can denote harmful changes in how he relates to others on a personal level, especially since this squares the Moon.  We can expect this to show up at random periods in his life as a ‘social upheaval’ event.  Projects can end or stop because of a personal problem.
Cosby is currently a big news item because of the accusations by many women of sexual misconduct involving them over a long period of time.  That will be addressed at some point.  We have to recognize that the public has seen him for decades as a comedian, as a TV dad with a large family — this show promoted strong family values and was a popular guide and image for many families in America as well as in other countries.  He was a serious academic, gaining a bachlor’s degree from Temple University, a Master’s and Doctorate from U-Mass.  He developed educational programs combining TV-video, books and instructional material.  He was a comedian and a film actor.  He accomplished a lot.  We will look at some of these activities in following posts.  Dave.

 

 

 

 

The Chart Mirrors Life; Life Mirrors the Chart

I had given a hint about my next series of posts in my last post, BUT, something came up in the news.  I just had to explore and share this with my readers.  Newscasts provide so many great examples of astrology and life moving forward hand-in-hand.  Two days ago, May 30th, 2016 on Monday, two event occured involving Donald Trump, presumptive Republican Party nominee for President.  Let us first look at his recent t/Moon-opp-n/Sun Return.

Most notable in this chart is t/Moon-n/Moon near the IC angle with t/Moon-opp-n/Sun in the 4th-10th house axis.  The theme for this pattern involves a sense of personal concern about one’s public image.  Now, add the emotional power of the two Moon’s, and you have a worried man.

Secondly, note t/Jupiter-t/N.Node at the Asc. angle;  Jupiter represents expansion, N.Node indicates associations, the Ascendant portrays our stance in the world and attitude.  Here, Trump is feeling ‘larger than life’ and concerned about his connections to others and how that affects him, personally.  We can also note t/Chiron-t/Neptune-Desc.; presenting us with a pattern of trying to make adjustments (Chiron) under confusing situations (Neptune) that relate to reaching out to others.  In summary we might say, “this period will present emotional situations and concerns over managing his public image of remaining larger than life before the public while having to deal with confusing pressure from others while trying to make adjustments on the fly.”  Now, let us advance this chart to Monday, May 30th.

Two significant events occurred on May 30th, 2016 for Donald Trump.  Basking in the glow of being the presumptive nominee for Republicans as their future President (hopefully).   Advancing the Return chart to this date reveals some strong patterns that mirror what happened this day.

First:  documentation on the claims of fraud regarding the practices and claims of Trump University were released on Monday.  Promised course and educational content was not provided and many were induced into paying additional amounts of money beyond the initial contracts.  This was something that was of great concern to Trump.  He wished very much that this never came to light.  In order to obscure this image-damaging documentation, Trump engaged in some verbal slight-of-mouth.  Second:  Trump had a press conference in which he made statements, blatantly insulted various press-reporters, refused to answer many questions, and made statements that he wished to make.  When asked if this was the way he would conduct press conferences if he was President, Trump responded that it was and that the reporters should get used to it.  Obviously, these outbursts gathered a lot of attention but did not fully draw attention away from the Trump University documentation release.  Donald now had two big problems on his hands.

In the Advanced chart for this awkward day, first note that the chart’s MC had advanced to the n/Sun position; Trump’s character and intentions were in public view on this date.  Secondly, note that t/Chiron-t/Moon-Descendant points to making an emotional adjustment in how one relates to others.  Trump was very red-faced and noxious in his response to being asked “if this is the way he would run a press conference as President.”  Third, t/Mars is on the natal IC angle; defensiveness is the order of the day.

Fourth, t/Part-of-Fortune conjoins n/Mercury while n/Part of Fortune opposes n/Mars-n/Ascendant.  Remember that Mars at the Ascendant in the natal chart?  The two PoF’s involve Mars and Mercury and the Ascendant — all of which indicates angry words!

I normally do not pay much attention to trine-patterns.  Yet, here t/N.Node-Asc. trines t/Mercury trines t/Pluto.  We might see this as an intensity in using words to control what was said and hopefully reported.  Oh, everything was reported.  And Donald was on the bad end of all the publicity over the past two days.

This is very much a case of the chart and Trump’s life mirroring each other.  I promise I will get on on with the promised-hinted subject for the next posting series.  Dave
